HERNAN GOMEZ
was born in Buenos Aires / Argentina. He studied Tae Quan Doo as a child
to train his body and mind. When he was a teenager, he saw an Argentine Tango
show and was very inspired by this dance and began to dance Tango. He
studied Tango at a special school for young talents sponsored by
the Argentine government, where he received his certification. He started his Career as a Tango
Dance Instructor and performer in Buenos Aires. In 2000, he moved to New
York where he met Maki Fujta, his current dance partner, as well as life
partner.. He
opened Tango Fever Studio in New York with Fujita and taught many classes
there and around New York, training professional Tango Dancers. In
2004, he moved to Japan and is .currently teaching group and private classes
at Tango Fever Studio, Kumamoto.
MAKI FUJITA
Was born in Kumamoto / Japan and began dancing at the age of 4 for the
Kumamoto Ballet. When she was 16 years old, she went to John Cranko School
in Stuttgart / Germany to study Ballet. Her professional career began at
age 18, as a member of the Stuttgart Ballet in Germany. In 1991, she moved
to New York City, where she worked with many different companies as
both dancer and
choreographer. She has been on the faculty at Peridance Center and Broadway
Dance Center. After meeting her current dance and life partner Henan Gomez,
she mastered Argentine Tango and opened Tango Fever Studio in Brooklyn,
New York in 2002. Since then, she has given several Argentine Tango workshops.. In 2004, after moving to Japan, she opened Tango Fever
Studio in Kumamoto and continues to teach many classes for the people in Kumamoto.
She is also a faculty member of the Kumamoto Ballet Institute.
